Instructions for Using LM Potency Remedies
These instructions are important. Please read them carefully and keep them for reference.
1. Factors That May Interfere With the Remedy
The following factors can interfere with the action of your homeopathic remedy and should be avoided when possible:
-
Dental care
Always seek appropriate dental care when necessary. Be aware that it may temporarily set the healing process back. Root canals and other sources of chronic infection are obstacles to cure. Please notify me if you have them and haven’t already. - Essential oils (especially camphor, tea tree oil, peppermint, and similar oils)
- Strong odors (paints, mothballs, perfumes, colognes, solvents, and similar substances)
-
EMF (electromagnetic fields)
Strong sources of electromagnetic energy, especially during sleep, such as nearby cell towers, electric blankets, Wi-Fi, microwaves, cell phones, etc. - Herbal medicines (including Swedish bitters, Pau d’Arco tea, Sunrider products, and KM products)
- Medicinal herbs and stimulants (including marijuana and especially coffee)
- X-rays, MRI scans, and acupuncture treatments
- Some pharmaceutical drugs
- Other homeopathic remedies
2. Care and Storage of the Remedy Bottle
- Keep the remedy bottle away from contamination, sunlight, strong EMF sources, and X-rays.
- Do not open the bottle near other open remedy bottles.
- Avoid opening it in the presence of strong odors (listed above).
- Unless preserved with at least 20% alcohol, the remedy should be refrigerated.
3. What You Will Need to Take the Remedy
Before dosing, gather the following items:
-
Your Remedy Solution Bottle (RSB)
Provided by the pharmacy. This may be:- a 4–12 oz (120–360 ml) bottle, or
- a 1–2 oz (30–70 ml) dropper bottle.
-
A cup large enough for 4 oz (120 ml)
One of the following:- “Hot” paper cups (without wax),
- disposable plastic cups (rinsed), or
- a ceramic or glass cup sterilized before each dose by sunlight or boiling water.
-
A steel spoon
Tablespoon or teaspoon, as advised. Rinse with hot water after use or sterilize in sunlight. - A book (used as the surface for succussion)
4. When to Take the Remedy
- Ideally, wait 30 minutes before or after eating or drinking anything except water. This is helpful but not critical.
- The best time is before sleep, unless it interferes with sleep.
- Any time of day is acceptable.
- I will advise you on the number of succussions and the number of drops or teaspoons.
5. How to Take Each Dose
Follow these steps exactly and consistently:
-
Succuss the Remedy Solution Bottle (RSB)
Firmly strike the bottle __ times, as if dropping it from approximately 60 cm (2 feet) onto a firm but soft surface such as a book. -
Prepare the water
Fill a fresh or sterilized cup with approximately 4 oz (120 ml) of purified water. -
Add the remedy
Add __ teaspoons from the RSB, or __ drops if using a dropper bottle. Stir for 10 seconds. -
Take the dose
Take ONE spoonful (tablespoon or teaspoon, as advised). Swish in the mouth, then swallow. -
Discard the remainder
Discard the remaining water in the cup. Your plants love it.
Precision is not critical, but consistency is. Take the remedy the same way each time so we can accurately adjust the dosage if needed.
6. After Your First Dose
- Take your first dose, then WAIT.
- Call me 3–4 days after the first dose, or sooner if you have questions.
- I will advise you on how to take the remedy regularly.
- After 2–3 weeks of regular dosing, we will do a short follow-up interview to determine whether this is the correct remedy for you.
7. Ongoing Dosing and Self-Observation
With my guidance, you will begin to judge your own progress:
- If there is no change in your condition:
- Increase the frequency and/or potency.
- If there is still no change after 3 weeks, stop taking the remedy.
- Contact me whether or not you feel this is the case.
- You may call or text me anytime with questions.
8. Most Important Rule
If you experience dramatic improvement OR worsening OR a clear change of symptoms, do NOT take another dose until you feel the last dose is starting to wear off.
This means no further change in symptoms or general signs of health. Over time, you will learn to judge for yourself how often to take the remedy.
9. Signs the Remedy Is Working
The remedy is working if you see improvement in any of your symptoms AND improvement in any of these General Signs of Health:
- Sleep & energy (better sleep; wake more refreshed; improved energy)
- Sense of well-being
- Clarity of mind
- Calmness and adaptability (better mental/emotional/physical adaptability; less sensitivity to allergens or stressors)
If any of these improve—even if other symptoms temporarily worsen—you are on the right track.
If symptoms merely change without improvement in general health, the remedy may be close but not optimal. I will advise you.
10. What to Do If Symptoms Worsen or Energy Feels Too Strong
- If symptoms worsen or you feel slightly overstimulated: stop taking the remedy until improvement occurs.
- There is no harm in this.
- It usually means the remedy is correct but the potency is slightly too strong.
- Call me so I can help adjust the potency or answer questions.
11. How to Decrease Potency
Potency may be decreased by one or more of the following:
- Decreasing number of succussions for each dose (minimum 2 succussions are necessary)
- Reducing the number of drops
- Using more water in the cup
- Using a second cup of water with a teaspoon from the first cup and dosing the same way from the second cup
12. How to Increase Potency
Potency may be increased by increasing the number of succussions or increasing the number of drops. After taking the remedy for four weeks at an LM level, I will advise you how to increase the potency at that level.
After you have taken the same potency for four weeks, increase the strength of your dose by adding another drop each week. For example: 3 drops for weeks 1–4, 4 drops for week 5, 5 drops for week 6, 6 drops for week 7. Then you should contact me about going up to the next potency.
Contact me if you see no further improvement at the LM level you are taking so we can decide what the next step in your treatment is.
13. Acute Conditions During Treatment
If an acute (self-limiting) condition like a cold, injury, etc. arises please contact me. You may try increasing the potency and frequency of your remedy but if you don’t see improvement after a few doses, stop.
Unless you find that it is helping, discontinue the LM remedy until this new temporary illness resolves itself. I may have to find an acute remedy that you will take temporarily until it resolves, when you can resume the chronic remedy. You may find it necessary to seek conventional treatment in some instances.
14. Finishing a Remedy
Frequently when you are finished with a remedy you will see a slight temporary return of the symptoms that it cleared.
Otherwise, if you see no improvement on the next level after a couple of weeks OR your symptoms change significantly (usually older symptoms return which is a good sign) OR all your symptoms have cleared, you may be through with that remedy; contact me for advice.
15. Substances and Obstacles to Cure
You will see the best results if you reduce or eliminate other non-prescribed medicinal substances such as herbs, drugs, coffee, tobacco, alcohol, etc. Don’t stop them immediately but taper off slowly. Avoid other “obstacles to the cure” also.
Work closely with your doctor, especially if you are taking a prescription drug. The remedy should improve your health so you may need less of the drug. Only alter the dosage of your prescription drug with your doctor’s advice.
Be Happy, Be Healthy.
