How to Pull an All-Nighter…The Healthy Way

Since the calamitous death of the Canadian soldiers during the Afghanistan war as a result of errors in judgement by our pilots due to fatigue and amphetamine use on long flights, there has been a search for a safe effective alternative.

My brother gave me a formula that I used throughout college whenever I needed to pull an all-nighter. I am going to share it now.

A few hours before one would normally go to sleep one should start taking 1 gram (1000 mg) of pantothenic acid (or calcium pantothenate) every hour with a calcium source. Milk is easy but green vegetables are a healthier source. Continuing taking this every hour until one finally goes to sleep. Thats it! Its that simple.

It used to be possible to get high potency supplements like this. But due to attempts to misinform people about the supposed dangers of supplements the largest sized pantothenic acid pill that I have seen is 100 mg. So you will need to take 10 of those. Pantothenic acid is a natural anti-stress vitamin. There is no known toxicity for this vitamin.  Since it is a B Vitamin, I would recommend keeping hydrated so that any excess can be flushed from your system.

My experience is that when I finally went to sleep the following day I felt as good as if I had slept a full nights sleep the night before. There was no edgy wired feeling that is associated with coffee or other stimulants.  Deficiencies of it have been shown to cause animals to lose the coloration of their hair, to turn white.

Be Well.
